You might think I am a little obsessed with rooftop pools, and you are right, especially because they give you the opportunity to photograph amazing sunsets and sunrises. That’s the main reason for me as I don’t particularly like pools in general.
This apartment is perfect for a couple or solo traveler with a modest budget. Here you can save some bucks without giving up on comfort and luxury.
Whether you are in Playa del Carmen for work or pleasure, this is the perfect spot, with great WIFI, and of course a spectacular rooftop space with a pool and sunbeds.

There are “combis” (small vans) that run around Playa del Carmen all day and night, but I would suggest you use taxis for your comfort. Always remember to ask the price before getting in.
Playa del Carmen Beach
Playa del Carmen boasts a beautiful coastline of white sand beaches. It’s all free and available for public use. However, if you wish to stay more comfortable, you should join a beach club.
I personally love the stretch of beach by Playacar, the luxury residential area where the beach is less crowded and quieter, and the sea is turquoise.
If you love beach parties, Mamita’s beach club is your place. It’s the first beach club in Playa del Carmen and it’s still #1 choice for party lovers.
Frequently Asked Questions on Renting in Playa del Carmen
Is Airbnb Safe in Playa del Carmen?
In my humble opinion and experience, Airbnb, VRBO, and all other verified booking platforms can be considered safe.
The companies verify the Homeowners. I wouldn’t have any safety concerns at all, but always make sure you do your homework, like checking the previous reviews, and make sure you are in a safe area.
Is it safe to go to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, right now?
Yes indeed, and even if you are not locking yourself up in an All-inclusive hotel, Playa del Carmen is as safe as any other tourist city. Just make sure you use some common sense. Petty theft is an issue just like anywhere else.
I have watched, puzzled, at a bag-lifting situation from a distance, in plain daylight. But that could happen anywhere. I wouldn’t roam around at night alone, though, especially in isolated areas. You can refer to my complete guide on safety in Mexico.
Is Uber Available in Playa del Carmen?
Unfortunately not. Uber is now available in Cancun, but with certain limitations, and is definitely not available in Playa or Tulum.
What is the best month to go to Playa del Carmen?
For a better climate, the dry season from December through March is definitely the best time to go. However, if you wish to swim with the whale sharks, summer is when you should travel, from June through September.
Which is better, Playa del Carmen or Cancun?
This is a tough question. It all depends on what kind of vacation you love.
They have both fantastic beaches and spectacular hotels, and a strategic location.
However, if you love to have nice walks among shops and bars, and have everything at walking distance, like a big town, Playa del Carmen is your place.
If you only care about basking on the beach chair of your fancy hotels and taking some tours every now and then, pick Cancun.
Also consider that Cancun is a 30-minute ferry ride from Isla Mujeres, offering whale shark tours, while Playa del Carmen is located 30 minutes by ferry from Cozumel.
