Central Mexico & Mexico City Weather Averages
Mexico City and the surrounding highlands are known for their moderate temperatures throughout the year. Spring and summer bring warm days (averaging 75°F/24°C) with cooler nights, while fall and winter are even chillier in the evenings, sometimes dropping to 45°F/7°C. Rain is common from May to October, so pack accordingly.

As you can see above, spring and summer in Mexico City call for lightweight, breathable clothing during the day and a layer for cooler evenings. When packing for Cancun and Playa del Carmen, you can choose outfits similar to what you’d wear in Tulum, although these places have a bit more of a city atmosphere.
They are generally a bit more formal and might be considered “conservative.” However, it really depends on what you’re comfortable with—wear what suits you best!

Cancún and Playa del Carmen call for more resort-style outfits. Brightly colored sundresses, wide-brim hats, and sandals work well for day trips. For nightlife, maxi dresses or sleek jumpsuits paired with statement jewelry fit the bill. However I would recommend leaving the expensive one at home and just buy some cheap fashion jewelry instead.
