Where to Stay In Sayulita Mexico: The Top 17 Hotels and Rentals in Sayulita
I’ve been to Sayulita a couple of times, and I’ve learned a few things about where to stay that can make or break your trip. For example, I recommend booking a place along the coast just outside the downtown area if I have the budget. It’s still an easy walk to the heart of town, but you’ll avoid the late-night party noise that can be a bit much if you want to relax.
Among the best beachfront hotels in Sayulita, you have La Puesta, a spectacular luxury property, Villa Amor, an exquisite luxury property located on the hills on the way to Playa de Muertos, with stunning views over the bay, beside Casa Pata Salada and La Esquina.
If you are not ready to splurge, there are still cute, mid-range properties such as Ysuri, or even more affordable hotels around town, also at a walkable distance but away from the noise. For example, Hotel Vista Oceana is on the beach and quite cheap, but guests complained about the unbearable noise and cleanliness.
On the contrary, places such as this cute studio or Hotels and Suites Los Encanto, for example, are highly rated, located at walking distance from the beaches and downtown, and relatively affordable.
As a general recommendation, before booking your hotel, make sure you check the reviews, the services included, and the location, and compare prices among different platforms. Also, keep in mind that if you travel in low season, May, June, and from September through December you may find great deals.
Having said that, let’s go through my selection of the top hotels in Sayulita. I have grouped them by price range for a better on-page experience.
I don’t include the price for each hotel because rates can vary drastically depending on the type of room, number of people, time of booking, and time of traveling (among other factors)

What guests say:
Exceptional – “ What a great boutique hotel, clean and safe. The design of the hotel and rooms are complete to my taste (it may not appeal to others). We were on the first floor, with a garden view balcony room. You could hear a bit of noise from reception, but for the price, I didn’t mind. The rooftop pool with the bar was a nice bonus. The only downside is that there are no restaurant/food facilities in the hotel, so you cannot purchase or reheat food unless you get the suite with kitchen. Nimfa and the rest of the staff (Alex) were extremely helpful and accommodating.“
11. Casa Love

“Budget” doesn’t necessarily have to mean hostel, and nowhere is that more true than at Casa Love. This little gem of a hotel has a comfy-chic beach vibe. Enjoy the sea views, family-style lounge, spacious rooms, and friendly, laid-back staff.

They have mixed dormitory rooms, female-only dormitory rooms, and family-style rooms.
What guests say:
Excellent: “What a great hostel, I had a private room for 7 nights, which was more like a 1-bedroom apartment with a balcony. Everything is made of concrete, so there is very little noise, if any, between rooms. A sick rooftop bar/pool, a very friendly staff. The only thing I could say negatively is it’s maybe an 8-10 min walk to the beach and it’s located up a hill; however, with that being said. There is no noise from vehicles or clubbing at night if you’re a light sleeper. I would recommend to anyone.“
13. Diamante Hotel Sayulita

Excellent: “Highly recommend this hotel. Central to the downtown and beach within a five minute walking distance, very clean room, wonderful staff, and excellent value for your dollar. We just wanted a clean room with air conditioning, hot water, and very quiet … and absolutely no bugs to be found here (unlike the other hotels nearby). Photos don’t do this hotel any justice, and was so much nicer to see in person. I’d come here again in a heartbeat. They offer a very simple free breakfast, but if you want a fantastic place for breakfast that’s healthy, try Anchor Cafe in the downtown core.”

What guests say:
“Casa Makawe was excellent. Comfortable, quiet, yet only a couple minutes’ walk from the square. The units facing the street (larger units) are on each floor separated from one another by a hallway, so no adjacent walls. The rooms were clean, and the kitchens were fully functional. Also, Aaron, the manager/contact person was always responsive to questions, communicated clearly, and great to work with (especially nice if it’s your first time to Sayulita).“
